Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. is renowned not only as the World’s Largest Builder of clay (Har-Tru) tennis courts but also as a builder of various other sport-style courts, including pickleball courts. The recommended dimensions for a pickleball court, as illustrated in the diagram, are a minimum of 30 feet in width by 60 feet in length, with the preferred size being 34 feet wide by 64 feet long.

Typically, pickleball courts are constructed using a road base and asphalt, coated with an acrylic color coating system—a process identical to the construction of an asphalt tennis court. After the installation of asphalt, there is a mandatory 30-day cure time for the emulsions and polymers to dissipate. This cure time is also applicable to concrete courts, be it for tennis or pickleball. Once the cure time concludes, preparations for the court surface commence. The court undergoes a thorough check for any low areas (birdbaths), which are then patched, followed by the application of acrylics to the court surface. In the case of a concrete court, additional preparations are made to ensure proper adhesion of the acrylics to the concrete surface.

Since 2010, Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. has held the exclusive distribution rights for DecoTurf® Materials in the State of Florida. DecoTurf® has been the chosen surface of the U.S Open since 1978. Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. provides all the products manufactured by DecoTurf® and maintains a comprehensive stock of nearly all their colors in our Florida warehouse.
